
ABOUT DEJI IGE

Deji Ige is a writer, a poet, a spoken word artiste and a communication expert. He has carved a niche in the sphere of ideological writing, and renowned for his ability to fuse African indigenous languages into his works. He has spoken on several stages and for television and radio audiences. Among many, he has been on the stages of: TED Talks (TEDx), United Nations Population Fund, African Economic Congress, Youth Hub Africa, United Nations Development Programme, Young African Leaders Initiative, Shehu Musa Yar’Adua Foundation, United Bank for Africa.
Deji Ige was a speaker alongside Wole Soyinka, Samia Nkrumah, Tony Elumelu, Femi Kuti and Djibril Tamsir Niane, at the UBA Africa Day celebration 2019. He was tasked by the Embassy of the United States of America in Nigeria to give a poetic welcome to U.S Secretary of State Antony Blinken at the interactive session with Nigerian innovators during his visit to Nigeria in 2021. He was Creative Member of the Nigerian Delegation that met with the Canadian Delegation led by Her Excellency Julie Payette-the Governor General of Canada during her visit to Nigeria in 2018 and a performer at the event.
